Get to know, Feyi!
Feyi Alufohai is an alumnus from Indiana University with a Bachelor’s degree in journalism and international studies. Her upbringing contributes to the work she can produce. She comes from a culturally diverse background being a dual citizen. Feyi was born in Houston, Texas, and raised in Nigeria. Her family lived in Malaysia for four years afterward, moved to Qatar, and stayed for three years. While in Qatar, she spent a summer working for Al Jazeera. She gained a broad understanding of the differences within cultures and how that affects media. During the Summer of 2016, she worked at Atlanta’s Creative Loafing, which gave her insight into the city’s unique social and cultural setting.
After graduating, she worked for Charter Global, an IT and Tech company, as their Marketing Content Creator. She moved on to work as the Creative Director for Brown Girl Bloggers, a start-up marketing agency based in Atlanta, Georgia. She managed the production and creative team of three members, a videographer, photographer, and animator in this role. She developed new ideas for branding campaigns and marketing messages for Instagram (105K+ followers) and Twitter (18.8k+ followers) pages to reach their audience. Alufohai went on to work for Cox Enterprises as a presentation designer. She worked as the Marketing Content Specialist for Utility Inc., a software company. During her time at Utility Inc., she executed targeted marketing campaigns, managed and produced all social media content, analyzed email marketing and social media campaign reports and SEO website performance rates.
Feyi has been blogging for several years. She developed advanced writing, editing, SEO, and HTML skills through her fashion, travel, and lifestyle blog (marvelingmind.com). Feyi’s knowledge of online media and simple coding helped grow her online readership, YouTube, and social media following.
